“Deep waters cannot quench love, nor floods sweep it away.”
We thought that having a perfect day was a cliché, but it sure felt perfect. Probably because of all the challenges and heartbreak of 2020, intense joy was SO appreciated.
We spent months planning a coordinated “safe” journey for our immediate families to be together. We also spent months getting the house ready and placed the last freshly painted kitchen cabinets the night before our family walked through the door.
The work, the quarantine and the worry all stood in complete contrast to waking up on August 1st with the intention to celebrate our love. Our lucky, life-time, deep, grounded love. We promised each other and God our lives in the presence of a priest we care for and respect deeply. Father Chris’ homily perfectly captured our moment; our love for each other and desire to be married could not be swept away by the pandemic.
It felt like a dream: my family there, John’s family there, a heartfelt ceremony, a 200 ft waterfall, and a surprise set up at a beautiful home. And the most precious of it all: the time, the memory, and the happiness that everyone is still carrying today.
Lucky for us, we had incredible artists to capture it. To help keep the memory and happiness alive. And to share the memory with the people we love, who could not be there.
And Justyna is truly an artist of the highest caliber. She has a way of capturing emotion and at the same time capturing Colorado. I asked her how she was able to capture the mountains like no one else could. Her secret was film photography, a skill that not many have to offer. I think on top of skill, personality and responsiveness is really important, and I just couldn’t be happier. I am so impressed and grateful that the day fell into place and that we were lucky enough to have Justyna capture it. ~ Ashley + John
