Austin and I were both born and raised in Colorado. We are from different cities, but looking back there were many chances for us to have met when we were at the same place at the same time.

We met in Lincoln, NE where we both attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!). Our families joke about the fact that we went all the way to Nebraska just to meet someone from Colorado.

Through a mutual friend, I was put in contact with Austin about some lacrosse shirts. Being the nice guy, he offered a few of them to me for free and he even picked me up from campus to go get them at his apartment. Grabbing a few shirts turned into a 7 or 8 hour conversation that involved laughing, joking and even looking at some of his high school yearbooks.

After that night we ended up spending a lot of time together, from study dates, group hangouts with our friends, and more late night talks. He finally asked to take me out on a proper date for my birthday. Little did I know, he and my friends had planned a surprise birthday dinner for me.

A few weeks later, Austin and I made it official.

Despite our many differences, we quickly fell for each other. I was amazed at his drive and kindness! Not only was he pretty nice to look at, but he also had this magnetic personality that makes people want to be around him. Everywhere we went, he was seeing people he knew or making new friends. I fell more and more in love with Austin as we challenged each other, laughed together, and grew together.

We began talking about our lives after college and planning a future together. In the fall of our senior year, Austin purchased an engagement ring. To my surprise, he proposed a few months later in front of both of our families.

We spent the first 5 months of our engagement long distance as I had chosen to complete my student teaching in Houston while Austin finished his degree in Lincoln. After graduation, we were able to line up jobs in Colorado and move back home into our own apartment.

After a year and a half of planning, Austin and I had our perfect wedding on June 16, 2018!

I cannot say enough about our big day! It was just the best day and we want to keep reliving it! We had a rustic style wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch celebrated with lots of friends and family. Austin and I shared personal vows with each other that made us laugh and cry. We ate amazing food and cake, we danced and enjoyed everyone celebrating with us.

Justyna was such a big part of our wedding day! We put her in a few time crunches and we asked for a lot of pictures on top of a sunset session with just the two of us. She was so patient and encouraging through it all! Her attention to detail and passion for photography is visible! We are so thankful that she helped us capture our favorite day!
