This Rocky Mountain Winter Elopement was one of the most incredible ones I have ever documenter! Here is their love story!
Jonathan and I met on a late night at the end of June in 2012 at a ‘spirited establishment’ (aka a bar). It was our first and last time there, but it was forever engrained in our memories. Nothing about us is cliché, so it wasn’t love at first sight; however, we definitely found something special that night. The rest is history as we effortlessly fell in love over the next year.
We soon moved in together with late night pillow talks becoming one of our favorite pastimes. So much so Jonathan fittingly proposed during an unassuming evening of pillow talk on that infamous night in December 2015.
Over the years, we have supported each other’s endeavors big and small. It is a beautiful thing to have learned and grown about love and life together. We love each other with our whole hearts and it has become such second nature that I believe it has spread into our skin and bones.
I don’t think I ever dreamed of my wedding day. I had always figured it would be a daunting task as I can be extremely particular. After I met Jonathan, we made a plan for our future and it never included a big (or costly) wedding. Our relationship has always been simple but intimate, and we wanted the same for our wedding.
When I stumbled upon Justyna’s website, I could tell by her photos that she could capture our moment. It was her photos that inspired our elopement to Colorado. The day of our wedding the weather was sunny with snow flurries. This made for a one of a kind hiking adventure to Dream Lake. Throughout our hike, I loved how Justyna encouraged us to enjoy every moment!
When we finally reached Dream Lake it was dramatically colder! It was insane how much colder it was there compared to the rest of our hike! Jonathan and I both thought we might lose fingers!
Overall, I could not have planned our day better. The weather, the views, and eloping together were a breathtaking experience! Justyna was a big part in allowing this to come together for us and she is truly a remarkable artist!
