ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK ADVENTURE | BRETT + LAURA

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK ADVENTURE | BRETT LAURA

This time at Spring Alpine Tundra at sunset is truly 100 percent worth hiking around Rocky Mountain National Park , discovering the unpaved trails others might have missed. I remember the day the first time ever I have experienced  Trail Ridge Road.

The views are absolutely incredible:

just imagine the melting snow creates little tiny flowing waterfalls, the calypso orchids intense patches dance to the rhythm of the wind in the distance, animals like elk and sheep revisit their summer ranges and migrant hummingbirds return to this Colorado mountain paradise.

I met Laura at one of the bridal stores downtown shooting “What to expect when shopping for a dress” article for Rocky Mountain Bride. She stole my heart from the beginning and I knew one of those days she will tag along with her love for one of the RMNP adventures

The vision of an alpine adventure…would not be possible without @westerwisp florals. I have discovered this talented florist last year when I shot another epic Colorado destination wedding for a couple from Michigan.

Cat created incredible bouquet for Rea and Jake I just cannot resit to share her work with all my beautiful couples! Also, the make up and hair was created by my dear friend and incredible artist, Lisa Bartley, of @graykinhairmakeup Spring Rocky Mountain Trail Ridge trails, fiercely in love couple dancing among wildflowers waking up from the winter sleep just to live 6 weeks…, and a beautiful sunset at the exact spot these two adventured.

It was such a dream, see it for yourself.

“Working with Justyna was nothing short of an adventure! Justyna was invested in our shoot from before it even started! Justyna scouted out the perfect spot in Estes Park where the views were breathtaking. She made us feel not only like a million bucks but also comfortable.

She knew exactly when to give us instruction for poses or movements to compliments to make us good about the images we were creating.

Justyna is extremely talented and passionate about her art, and the images she produced from our shoot were magical. I couldn’t be more satisfied with our ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK ADVENTURE and time with her!”

Serendipity

Serendipity (n): finding something good without looking for it.

Brett and Laura meeting was pure serendipity. Almost five years ago, they happened to sit side by side at a dinner gathering at the Hard Rock Café in Washington D.C. Brett originally from Seattle and Laura from Kansas City.

You’d never guess the paths that led them to the same dinner gathering.

Brett, a young and handsome Marine, was just back from a deployment overseas and enjoying a long weekend up in Washington D.C. with his buddies. Laura meanwhile was in town from Kansas City visiting her sister.

She received an invite from an old college friend for her and her sister to join them for dinner and enticed her with the promise that several Marines would be in attendance.

When Laura and her sister arrived there were only a couple seats left at the table, one next to Brett and another on the other side of the table. Laura chose the one next to Brett.

Over random small talk Brett discovered that Laura had the new phone that he had been looking at.

Because of Laura’s job she was in the know about whether this would be a good phone to get or if he should wait for the release of a newer version. They exchanged numbers and Laura promised to look into the matter and let him know.

The dinner ended and they went their separate ways. Although they were unable to connect again while in Washington D.C., the conversation continued via text and phone calls stretching into the next couple of weeks.

After a few weeks, Brett decided he would ask Laura to be his date to the 239th Marine Corps Birthday Ball which his unit was holding in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She eagerly accepted and began shopping for a ball gown.

The weekend was a great success and solidified the start of their relationship.

Fast forward three years and we find these two back in Washington D.C. in front of the Lincoln Memorial with Brett down on one knee asking Laura to spend the rest of their lives together. She happily said “Yes!”

Laura and Brett now live in Colorado where they just built a new home together while planning their wedding for the fall of 2018.
