Laughter – Ambition – Adventure
These are the keystones that have defined our relationship since the beginning. They extend into every aspect of our journey together.
HOW WE MET
We met when Tyler was managing Stone Summit, the rock climbing gym in Atlanta. Sarah was just finishing up her Bachelor’s degree at Emory University.
He was the charismatic GM with the cute dimples and she was the climber chick with a big smile.
The opportunity to climb after hours and control the gym’s stereo system was too good to refuse. By the third date, we were driving to Chattanooga for climbing day trips.
Things were made even better by the fact that Tyler had a chocolate lab puppy, Odie.
Adventure As Our Traditions
After 3 months of dating and lots more short road trips, we took our first New Years trip to visit Sarah’s sister in Portland, Oregon.
It was a blissful time filled with exploring, whiskey tasting, snowboarding, breweries, and cabins. We knew these trips would become a tradition.
When Sarah left for the summer after graduating reappeared 3 months later. In other words, Tyler knew he couldn’t miss his chance to ask her out.
Furthermore, fast forward two years and Tyler is working as a Financial Advisor while Sarah is pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy back at Emory University (as Tyler always likes to say, “I make sure that we don’t die poor and she makes sure that we don’t die”).
Las Vegas Surprise Proposal
Our annual New Years trip was planned for Las Vegas to enjoy the climbing at Red Rocks Canyon. We found a secluded spot to take a break before climbing some more.
Sarah had just pulled out her carrots and hummus to settle down when Tyler took the snacks, set them aside, & got down on one knee.
Sarah had to pause to ask “is this real” and process where her snacks had gone, but she immediately said yes, and the rest of the trip was a giddy celebration.
Mountain Adventure as our Escape
Adventure has always been our escape. As a result, we started planning a trip to Colorado we thought it would be fitting to capture our love in our happy place: the mountains.
After finding Justyna’s site we immediately started drooling over how she captures the raw beauty of her scenes and the natural love of her couples.
We were excited and nervous for our adventure shoot, but there was no time for nerves after our 4am wake-up call to go welcome sunrise at Loveland Pass.
Our relationship’s Keystones
Justyna showed us the best remote spots. As a result, it felt like the sky was opening up just for us. After that, we continued on to the Breckenridge ski lifts for a fun ride to cap off all of the running, jumping, snuggling, & twirling we had just done.
Justyna made sure the focus was always our experience.
For instance, she left us with a recommendation for the BEST crepes to recharge after our adventure.
Above all, this day was such a unique experience for us that encompassed our relationship’s keystones, and we are so grateful that Justyna was able to bring that experience to life for us.
